‘Shameless’ Season 6 Theories: Is Fiona Getting Married? Emmy Rossum Spotted Wearing Wedding Dress On Set

Fiona Gallagher is getting hitched … again! On Wednesday, Emmy Rossum, who portrays Frank’s (William H. Macy) eldest daughter on the hit series “Shameless,” was spotted walking around the Showtime set sporting an usual wardrobe: a wedding dress. And while the 29-year-old actress looked lovely in the mermaid-styled frock accompanied with a two-tiered veil, Fiona’s stunning, new ensemble also raised a lot of questions for fans of the dark comedy, like -- Who is Fiona marrying?

When Season 5 of “Shameless” concluded, Fiona’s relationship status was left unclear as fans watched her struggle with her feelings for both her husband, Gus (Steve Kazee), and her baggage-lugging boss, Sean (Dermot Mulroney). So, which heartthrob will the Chicago native choose to walk down the aisle with when Season 6 returns to the small screen on Jan. 10, 2016? Well … we have our theories:

In a promo video for the forthcoming installment, it was revealed that Fiona will be getting down and dirty with none other than Sean in Season 6, which will pick up a few months after last year’s finale. But hitting the sheets won’t be the only things these two lovebirds will be doing in in the new season. According to reports, Sean and Fiona will continue working together at the diner -- and perhaps even manage the restaurant side-by-side.

“You’re just offering her the [assistant manager] job because she f---s you,” a disgruntled employee says, pointing out Sean’s pretty blatant favoritism (and relationship).

“No,” he responds back to the accusation. “It’s a great side benefit.”

But does that mean Sean will be the lucky man who wins over Fiona’s heart? Although we’re totally shipping the two, Fiona is pretty unpredictable. Perhaps the brunette beauty will get hitched to a handsome, random stranger, which is something she’s done in her past. Or it’s quite possible that the wedding gown could be a part of a dream Fiona has after ending her marriage with Gus.

Shanola Hampton, who portrays Vee in the series, gave audiences an inside look at this mystery wedding when she posted images of the Gallagher event to her Instagram page. Fans can see both actors Jeremy Allen White, who plays Lip, and Ethan Cutkosky, who takes on the role of Carl, sporting their finest suits and a boutonniere, teasing these two must be in the wedding party.
