‘Shameless’ Season 8 Spoilers: Episode 5 Synopsis, Videos And Photos Released
Showtime’s “Shameless” will be taking viewers to church next week — at least, it will if the Gallaghers get their way. It looks like the family will be interested in an abandoned church in Season 8, episode 5.
“Ian (Cameron Monaghan) helps Trevor (Elliot Fletcher) raise money for a new youth shelter,” the synopsis teases.
As viewers have seen, Ian is doing everything he can to get back into the good graces of his ex-boyfriend. He knows that Trevor needs more shelters for LGBT runaways, and he realizes that the abandoned church might be the perfect place. But just how far is he willing to go to get it?
In the trailer for “Shameless” Season 8, episode 5, it looks like Ian will hit up an old client for a donation. However, it seems like he is being propositioned. Will he sleep with someone for the money? Watch the promo video below:
He isn’t the only one searching for money. “Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) loses his scholarship and gets creative with securing tuition,” the logline reveals. Military school might be the only good thing in Carl’s life at this point, and he’s going to do whatever it takes to keep it.
Elsewhere, “Fiona (Emmy Rossum) tries to raise the neighborhood’s profile.” She is shown in photos below meeting with Margo (Sharon Lawrence), the owner of Patsy’s Pies. Fiona admires the businesswoman, and she might be taking some advice from her. However, it’s her interaction with Mel (Perry Mattfeld) that’s really interesting. In the trailer above, Fiona talks to her about the church being for sale, and Mel wants Fiona to grovel. Clearly, she has something that Fiona wants.
Episode 8 is titled “The Education of Liam Fergus Beircheart Gallagher,” so it’s safe to say that Liam (Christian Isaiah) will get a fair amount of screen time. When he fails a test, Frank (William H. Macy) will deem it necessary to give his fellow parents a lesson. “Frank teaches the parents at Liam’s school all about the working class,” the summary says.
Watch Frank’s reaction to Liam’s failure in the sneak-peek video below:
Also, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is still having trouble. “Lip stands up to a friend and gets hurt,” the summary hints. Which friend is he standing up to? Fans will have to tune in to find out.
“Shameless” Season 8, episode 5 airs Sunday, Dec. 3 at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
