Simu Liu is super thrilled to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." And it looks like he will not let anyone treat his big MCU debut as anything lesser than a blockbuster, not even Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

The Chinese-Canadian actor on Saturday fired back at Chapek's "interesting experiment" comment with an impassioned statement.

At an earnings call Thursday, Chapek reportedly said "Shang-Chi" was an "interesting experiment."

"We actually think it will be an interesting experiment for us. The prospect of being able to take a Marvel title to the service after going theatrical for 45 days will be yet another data point to inform our actions going forward on our titles," he said, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Though it's clear he was referring to the movie's 45-day theatrical window before its debut on Disney +, Liu has made it crystal clear that he does not consider any part of his Marvel debut as an "experiment."

The 32-year-old actor took to Twitter Saturday to express his displeasure.

"We are not an 'interesting experiment,'" he wrote referring to Chapek's comment, along with some behind-the-scenes images from the set. "We are the underdog; the underestimated. We are the ceiling-breakers. We are the celebration of culture and joy that will persevere after an embattled year. We are the surprise. I'm fired the f--k up to make history on September 3rd; JOIN US."

Many fans and friends supported the actor after he posted the comment.

"Let's f—in goooooo," wrote "Good Trouble" star Sherry Cola. "I'll be there!" "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" star Vincent Rodriguez III commented. Chrishell Stause also responded with a "100" emoji.

"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" has been making waves ever since its trailer was released in April. It is the first Marvel film with an all-Asian cast.

During an interview back in May, Liu spoke about joining the "Avengers" and being a part of a "movement that pushes the society forward."

"I'm excited and I think for all of the good and the bad of what's to come, it's definitely a journey that I feel very privileged to be going on. I know how much it would've meant to kids and to myself as a kid seeing this when I was younger. I totally understand the importance of it," Liu told PEOPLE. "I know that it's not going to be easy, but at the same time, I feel so incredibly excited to be a part of this movement that gets to push society forward... It gets to deepen the conversation, it gets to normalize seeing Asian faces on screen and hearing Asian voices and our stories."

"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" also stars Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh and Ronny Chieng. It is all set to hit the theaters on Sept. 3.
