Shania Twain opened up about her admiration for Britney Spears on "Home Now Radio" on Thursday. The legendary country-pop star explained in the new episode of her Apple Music show that she has been inspired by the 39-year-old singer and has has seen her perform a couple of times in Las Vegas.
Twain discussed her favorite performances that have come through Las Vegas since living in the city over the past decade intermittently. The singer enthusiastically began to sing "Hit Me Baby One More Time," which was originally released in 1998, before she spoke about Spears.
The 55-year-old Canadian singer noted that she doesn't sound like Spears but often will "sing-along" to her fellow pop star's records. She recalled watching Spears' performance at Las Vegas' Zappos Theater; eventually, Twain performed on the same stage during one of her own "Let's Go!" concerts.
"I thought her show was great and I was motivated to get on that same stage, so her show inspired me a lot. It was a fantastic show," Twain said. She also shed light on a song she had co-written two decades ago for Spears, titled "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know."
The song successfully made its place on Spears' “Oops I Did It Again” album, released in 2004.
Twain also noted in an earlier episode that she has witnessed Gwen Stefani's perform in the same theater.
Twain explained that Stefani's show was beautiful, and praised the former No Doubt member for her fashion sense. In fact, Twain couldn't stop gushing over the "Bubble Pop Electric" star's fashion sense, noting that she is "always on point."
Moreover, Twain noted that Stefani is a great performer -- talented and fun with her "rock girl power."
Twain praised Lady Gaga in a recent episode, too, along with several other singers. She referred to Gaga as a powerhouse whose voice is powerful yet "emotional and sensitive." And in that same episode, Twain spoke about Backstreet Boys and Boyz II Men with enthusiasm, and disclosed that she met Avril Lavigne for the first time when the "When You're Gone" star was just 14 years old.
