Shannon Beador Divorcing Husband David After 17 Years Of Marriage
It’s the end of the road for Shannon Beador and husband David Beador’s 17-year-long marriage. The “Real Housewives of Orange County” star has apparently moved forward with the legal process to terminate their marital status late last week.
On Monday, it was found out that Shannon filed for divorce from David on Dec. 1. The television personality presented the necessary documents for their divorce to the O.C. Superior Court, according to Us Weekly.
The filing does not come as a surprise though. Shannon and David announced that they have broken up in October. “After much thought and careful consideration, David and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” Shannon said in a statement at the time.
The 53-year-old Bravo actress assured her fans that she and David are very committed to fulfilling their parental duties to their three daughters: Sophie, 15, and twins Adeline and Sophie, 12. “We remain partners in parenthood and are committed to raising our three daughters. This is not the future we envisioned, and we kindly ask for privacy, especially for our children, during this transitional time.”
Although the couple did not disclose a specific reason for their split, an insider told E! News at the time that the pair were actually struggling with a miserable marriage. “This has been a miserable marriage for Shannon for a very long time. David wanted out. Shannon couldn’t take it any longer and has decided that this is best for the kids and her health.”
In 2015, Shannon revealed in the tenth run of “RHOC” that she’s well aware that David had been an unfaithful husband to her. However, after going to therapy following the shocking revelation, the couple reconciled and even renewed their vows at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in California, which was documented on season 11.
During the reunion show of “RHOC” Season 12, Shannon broke down in tears when she revealed that David wanted their marriage to end. “We went on a trip to Hawaii, which I kind of hoped would bring everything together, but he left the trip early. And when I came home, he said, ‘We’re done,’” she was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
Shannon also admitted that she felt that David started to became distant from her when she gained 40 lbs. She has since been very open about her struggle to lose weight, and her crumbling marriage did not help motivate her at all.
“It’s heartbreaking for me and my daughters that this is the road that had to be taken but it’s the only way,” Shannon told People two months ago. “I felt alone in my marriage. You can do what you can to keep your family together, but you have to have willing parties. You need two people to make a marriage work, and that just wasn’t happening in our relationship.
