Shannon Beador Opens Up About Brooks Ayers' Cancer Battle, Relationship With 'RHOC' Co-Star Vicki Gunvalson In Blog Post

Shannon Beador is finally addressing her heated blowup with close friend Vicki Gunvalson on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” During Season 10, episode 11, Shannon, 51, brought some troubling information to Vicki's attention from the ladies of the group regarding her then-boyfriend Brooks Ayers’ cancer diagnosis. Her attempt at being a good friend backfired when Vicki, 53, and Brooks stormed out on their shared meal.

In her Bravo TV blog, Shannon opened up about Brooks’ diagnosis as well as the incident, which occurred during his birthday dinner. According to her post, she continues to wish Brooks the best, though she is frustrated by his refusal to consider her doctor referral. She went on to blame co-star Meghan King Edmonds for her explosive fight with Vicki. Shannon suggested that Meghan, 30, had intentionally shared the gossip about Brooks with her knowing that she was headed to dinner with Vicki later that evening -- a move she called “the ultimate pot stirring.” Shannon also wrote that it was “irresponsible” of Meghan to perpetuate such claims based solely on the prediction of a psychic.

Shannon shared with fans that Meghan’s shocking revelation left her with only two choices: Keep the information to herself and risk being called a bad friend by Vicki, or share it and brace for the fallout. Those who tuned in to Monday’s episode of “RHOC” know she chose the latter. Shannon wrote that she was “extremely upset” at how Vicki handled the situation, especially because she hadn’t even gotten the chance to share with her what was said.

“I didn't tell Vicki what Meghan said and I was extremely upset that she went back to the table and announced that something negative was said about Brooks,” she said. “Dinner instantly ruined. Meghan put me in a no-win situation — keep horrendous information a secret from my good friend or destroy the night.”

As we previously reported, during episode 11 of the popular Bravo TV series, Tamra Judge placed a call to her psychic, asking him to meet with her, Heather Dubrow and Meghan. During their lunch meeting, he told the ladies he didn’t see a cancer diagnosis when "reading" Brooks. The ladies stayed tight-lipped about the reading until after the surprise party Tamra threw for Brooks at her gym. While eating cake and sipping sake, Brooks shared with the “RHOC” ladies that he had decided to forgo further chemotherapy treatments in favor of a less conventional approach. The ladies stayed behind after the party to discuss what had been said. It was then that Meghan dropped the psychic’s bombshell on Shannon.

Although Vicki has remained quiet about the situation, Shannon and several of the other members of the cast shared their thoughts via Twitter while watching along. Shannon tweeted that Meghan’s comments left her with no choice but to speak out. Meanwhile, Meghan praised Shannon, with whom she’s had issues all season, for finding Brooks a doctor and asked why Vicki chose to handle the information the way she did. Tamra spoke out only to say how quickly the conversation between Shannon and Vicki escalated.
