"Dancing With The Stars" is shaking things up for Season 28.

On Wednesday, the ABC show announced the celebrity cast that would be going toe-to-toe for the coveted mirrorball trophy and while they did not announce which pro partner each contestant would be paired with, devoted fans may have noticed two names missing: Artem Chigvintsev and Sharna Burgess.

The two "DWTS" pro-dancers will not be returning to the show for the fall 2019 installment and took to social media to express their feelings on the matter.

"I just want to say how sad it makes me feel not to be part of Season 28 of DWTS," Artem captioned his Instagram post. "It’s been 10 years since I have joined this absolutely, one of a kind, incredible show! It has given me recognition as a dancer, choreographer and a teacher. I have had so many beautiful memories with all of my celebrity partners! They all have shaped me into the person that I am today."

He went on to thank everyone who played a part, including fans of the ABC show and wished the upcoming cast "the best of luck" before signing off, "With lots of Love Artem."

While it was certainly a shock for viewers to learn Artem will not appear this season, more shocking was that Burgess received the same news. Even Tom Bergeron, a host of the ABC show, was not expecting the network to make that move.

"As a matter of fact, I was just texting with Sharna recently," he told Entertainment Tonight. "She was surprised and I was too. But again, that's somebody else's call."

Sharna expressed her shock in an Instagram post shared on Wednesday. "As I’m sure you’ve heard, I will not be returning to @dancingabc this season," she wrote. "I am unbelievably sad to not be back!!!"

Although the 34-year-old was quite obviously disappointed in the news, she shared her love for the show and that she spent "nearly 9 years" with.

"I have endless love and gratitude for all of you and for everyone at the show," she shared. "I’ll be watching and cheering this coming season for all of my fam out on that dance floor!!! Good luck everyone, may this be the best season yet! Let’s go season 28!!!"

The two "DWTS" pros are replaced by newcomers Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach.

"Dancing With The Stars" premieres Monday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
