Sharna Burgess got candid about her struggles as a first-time mother, which include "intrusive mom thoughts."
Burgess, 37, took to Instagram Friday to share a clip of her carrying her 5-month-old son, Zane Walker Green, whom she shares with partner Brian Austin Green. In the clip, she appears to be hearing something and talks to her son, saying, "Oh my God, what is that?"
She accompanied the clip with a lengthy caption detailing how she's struggled to control her thoughts since delivering her child. According to the "Dancing with the Stars" pro, "intrusive mom thoughts" is "a real thing."
"Honestly I thought it was something wrong with my brain at first," she shared on Instagram. "These super dark thoughts of all the things that could go wrong. All the ways I or life could accidentally hurt my baby. Falling down [the] stairs holding him, sickness, a car accident.. the list is long but I won't share it. If you know you know."
She added that she is still getting these intrusive thoughts five months after giving birth but that she's now learned how to tame them. The new mom believed the thoughts stemmed from all the duties she has to fulfill.
"That new responsibility is filled with so much love, wonder and awe but nobody warns you about the equal amount of fear that now lives within you," she continued. "It's the most excruciating love you've ever felt and its overwhelming, at least for me it was. But now I have tools that I wanna share with all my mamas that may need it like I did/do."

Burgess shared the two things she does whenever intrusive thoughts start to cloud her mind.
The first involves "deep cleansing breaths, taking in as much air as you can and holding as you say, 'I release all thoughts that do not serve me.'" She said she then breathes out while "imagining those words and the feeling they bring leaving you."
The second method, which she describes as a "quicker fix," involves physically swiping her hand in front of her eyes, saying "no" and imagining "that image being destroyed and gone." She said she then tries to "call in a memory that I can't wait to make with Zane. All of the firsts that he has coming."
The professional dancer said that those two things helped her "tremendously" and that she hopes they would also work for other moms. She concluded her post by saying that she was willing to share more tips for those who want to learn more techniques in dealing with intrusive mom thoughts.
Green and Burgess announced their pregnancy in February by sharing on social media a photo of the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum kissing his partner's baby bump. They welcomed their first child in June, Us Weekly reported.
Green shares three children with his ex-wife Megan Fox — Noah, 10, Bodhi, 8, and Journey, 6. He is also a dad to Kassius, 20, whom he shares with ex Vanessa Marcil.
