Shia LaBeouf, CAA Part Ways Following Sexual Battery Allegations And While Actor Receives Inpatient Treatment

Shia LaBeouf and Hollywood talent agency CAA decided to party ways while he is still receiving inpatient care and following the abuse and sexual battery allegations thrown against him last year.

LaBeouf has been receiving inpatient care ever since his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs accused him of physical abuse when they were together. Several other women came forward and alleged that he was abusive to them emotionally.

CAA did not fire LaBeouf, but it was the "Transformers" star who decided to take a break from acting. He wanted to focus on his recovery and get the help he needed, Variety reported.

CAA has not been working with LaBeouf for one month already. Variety reached out to CAA for comments but got no response.

LaBeouf and CAA's split was a mutual decision, Deadline has learned.

Meanwhile, LaBeouf has been receiving treatment for over five weeks already, according to an insider. He is currently living at an inpatient facility. It remains unknown when he will be released as his release is dependent on his recovery.

LaBeouf was sued by Twigs, born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, for sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress. Bryan Freedman, who represented Twigs and his other ex, Karolyn Pho, claimed he didn't want to settle the matter privately. LaBeouf's lawyer, Shawn Holley, disputed the claim and mentioned that he had been seeking for long-term, inpatient treatment and was cooperative.

"When these allegations first came up a year ago, Shia immediately accepted responsibility for the many things he had done wrong and expressed his willingness to do what Twigs wanted him to do, almost all of which were perfectly reasonable," Holley said.

"To that end, he paid for, scheduled, rescheduled (when she changed the date), and traveled from another country to attend the mediation set up by the lawyers for both sides. When Twigs’ lawyer cancelled the mediation, Shia’s lawyer tried to get it rescheduled. Shia’s position has never changed and I have reached out to Mr. Freedman to see how things might get back on track.”

LaBeouf wanted a meaningful, intensive and long-term inpatient treatment. Meanwhile, many were not pleased when Netflix removed LaBeouf's name from its awards page after Twigs filed a lawsuit against him for allegedly being abusive. They felt bad because they thought he was being judged without due process.

"Guilty until proven innocent is the new norm it seems," one wrote.
