Shia LaBeouf Charged With Petty Theft, Battery After Fighting A Man, Stealing His Hat

Shia LaBeouf has landed himself in trouble once again as the actor was recently charged with two misdemeanors.
According to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office, the 34-year-old actor has been charged with one count of misdemeanor theft and one count of misdemeanor battery for an incident that took place five months ago, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The media outlet also reported that LaBeouf was charged by the prosecutors for inflicting violence on a man named Tyler Murphy. As per the complaint, the incident took place on June 12 and ended with LaBeouf stealing a hat that belonged to Murphy.
The actor has yet to comment on the complaint filed against him.
This is not the first time that a complaint has been filed against the “Transformers” star. The actor has been a figure of controversy throughout his career and was even arrested in 2017 for public drunkenness.
LaBeouf was taken into custody while shooting for “The Peanut Butter Falcon” in Savannah, Georgia, Variety reported at that time. A few moments later, a video made its way to social media in which he was seen screaming and cursing at a police officer.
LaBeouf thanked the police officer for arresting him and changing his life in 2019. While accepting the “breakthrough screenwriter” award at the Hollywood Film Awards, the “Fury” actor gave a shout out to the police officer and said that he (police officer) changed his entire life.
“I want to thank the police officer who arrested me in Georgia — for changing my life,” the star said at that time.
In 2015, LaBeouf was also arrested for public intoxication in Austin, Texas. The actor had to spend the night in jail. Based on the affidavit, a police officer said that the actor called him a “silly man” and added that the star became hostile during the arrest.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, LaBeouf is currently enjoying the success of his latest movie “Pieces of a Woman.” The movie had its premiere at the 77th Venice Film Festival and gained positive reviews.
Helmed by Kornél Mundruczó, the movie also stars Vanessa Kirby in the lead role and currently holds a score of 81% on review rite Rotten Tomatoes.
