Shiba Inu Drops Massive 'SHIB: The Metaverse' Update, Unveils HUB: WAGMI Temple
The Shiba Inu team dropped a major update for "SHIB: The Metaverse," which includes the introduction of the conceptualized HUB and the announcement of new teams — all indicating that the platform is progressing and inching toward a full release much sooner than the industry anticipated.
While the community is excited about the imminent release of "Shiba Eternity" and the possible announcement of the Shibarium Beta testnet, the Shiba Inu development team published a blog post Tuesday. The blog announced new teams working for "SHIB: The Metaverse" and stated that these teams will "aid in being the eyes, ears, and voice of the community in order to relay community questions, concerns, and views."
One of the new teams is the Shib: Creative, Innovation, Community Feedback/Broadcast Aid, which consists of Trophias, U B, Stixil. The other new team dubbed the Shib: Intake, Marketing, Sponsorships/Partnerships Aid has Baysed, FIRSTWORD, Milkshake. It is worth noting that these are pseudonymous names and while outsiders barely recognize them, the Shib Army, knows these names too well.
"Our intention is providing a good connection between the Expert Advisors, Developers, and ultimately the AAA Studio of the Metaverse," the Shiba Inu team explained in the blog.
"The goal is to involve the community while producing a unique experience in the creation of environments, in which the ShibArmy's feedback adds to the key value, guidance, and as a collaborative resource to reach higher grounds in the delivery of the immersive virtual world," it added.
Aside from the new teams, perhaps the major highlight of the update is the first-ever unveiling of the conceptualized HUB of "SHIB: The Metaverse." While the Shiba Inu metaverse has lands available for users to own, HUBS are virtual plots with the highest value on the platform and unlike other plots, they are reserved and inaccessible to users at the moment.
The WAGMI Temple HUB's concept is inspired by various architectural designs of temples in Asia and South Africa. "A Zen-like realm with calming sensations, meditation, natural beauty, and spiritual connections to the world. Echoes whisper through the region with a rich history of discovery," stated the team.
The team also shared the concept of Community Projects, which intends to include the ideas generated by the community. "We want to invite you to share your innovative ideas in order to bring forward incredible utility, and introduce possibilities for SHIB The Metaverse to grow even further," it said.
To make this possible, the Shiba Inu team revealed that it is working on an online form that enables users to submit their projects for the metaverse. "Community Projects will have a great developmental space that is dedicated for them as well in order to coordinate delivery of such projects and start things in the right direction, alongside the SHIB The Metaverse Team," it noted.
"SHIB: The Metaverse" will feature 100,965 lands that users will mint. Aside from owning the land, landowners also earn passive income from their plots, generate rewards and collect in-game resources in the metaverse.
During the introductory phase of "SHIB: The Metaverse," the team would unlock 36,431 plots of land. So far, there are over 19,000 plots have been sold to more than 5,600 owners.
"SHIB: The Metaverse" is just one of the many upcoming projects of the Shiba Inu ecosystem that the community has been talking about non-stop because of the use case and utility the projects could bring to SHIB, the ecosystem's native token.
As of 1:28 a.m. ET Wednesday, SHIB was trading down 1.19% at $0.00001247 with a 24-hour volume of $7,354,374,481, according to the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
