KEY POINTS

- Until now, Kusama's real identity has never been publicized
- Shiba Inu now trades downward 3.91%
The real identity of Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama is still a mystery but recent projects of the meme coin maybe pointing to their nationality at least.
Latest projects of the meme coin include collaborations with Welly and John Richmond. Welly is an Italian fast-food venture rebranded to a Shiba-themed restaurant following the collaboration in February.
John Richmond is a well-known English designer based in Italy. The partnership is set to feature Tram Walk, an advertising campaign where Shiba Inu and John Richmond arts would be on the city's public transport tram.
The partnership is also anticipated to soon feature a unique set of Shiba Inu-related Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). These projects are based in Italy and trigger speculations that Shytoshi Kusama is an Italian.
Speculations they remain. Kusama has not confirmed this. The lead developer of Shiba Inu always shares project developments, teases future projects and discusses cryptocurrency topics online.
His real identity is shrouded in mystery and it appears that they intend to keep it that way. The lead developer made it clear and even offered a reason to remain anonymous.
"I’m not hiding, but does my face make you do things differently?" they told Coinpocalypse when asked if they are hiding. "I’m just a normal guy with big dreams and a strong team," they added.
"One more thing about this…We are building a real contender. Why should I place myself in potential danger from hackers and others that may not agree with our plan? You want me to be CZ? Justin Sun? Nah bro. I am not them. I am SHYTOSHI. Nothing against them, we just do things differently," Kusama explained.
While it looks like Kusama has no plan to reveal their real identity, Welly recently put a face to the mysterious name. The Shiba Inu-themed restaurant released an NFT designed by a 3D artist named Adrian San Vicente.
Welly christened the NFT as "The Shytoshi Wellsama," which the lead developer was grateful for. They later used the NFT as a profile picture on their official Twitter account.
Shiba Inu is trading downward 3.91 percent at $0.00002471 with a $971,207,305 24-hour volume as of 4:00 a.m. ET of March 4, as per CoinMarketcap data.
