Shibarium Devs Update The Community, Straighten False Narratives And Slams Those Piggybacking On Project's Popularity
The Shiba Inu development team has made a new announcement about the highly anticipated layer-2 solution Shibarium to expose false narratives making rounds online and slam those who are trying to piggyback on the project's popularity.
The Shib Army or the Shiba Inu community, the fierce and loyal holders and fans supporting the ecosystem, has been very excited about the launch of Shibarium ever since it was announced and is the first one on the developers' list of people to thank for.
The announcement highlighted the "upcoming phased introduction" of Shibarium and confirmed that BONE, the governance token of the ecosystem, is and will be the only "for gas fees and other uses."
The Shiba Inu development team said, "We'd like to announce that we have observed, and also have been made aware, of rumors alongside claims that involve other ❌ tokens in the network or that are required to utilize it."
"This is to confirm and validate, from us, the official source, that BONE is and remains the only token selected for gas fees and use. No other tokens will be necessary to operate within the protocol," it added.
The team also reiterated, "Furthermore, and to make it strictly clear: Shibarium has been developed for @Shibtoken and not for the sake of other projects who claim ownership or speculation surrounding its operability dependency on any other tokens." It added that "this layer belongs to the community and its solid foundation to innovate while evolving SHIB as an Ecosystem. It will always encompass support for Shiba Inu and its growth."
The first official update from the Shibarium team surfaced a few hours after some Shiba Inu influencers called out certain Twitter users who they think are seemingly creating confusion in the community to push their interest or the tokens they have invested in.
Shiba ecosystem loyalist and content creator who goes by the Twitter handle @LucieSHIB commented on a photo of the Shiba Inu repository on Github making rounds online and said it "seems like a scam," advising the Shib Army not to "believe it until Shiba Team confirms it."
Shib Army fudders fighter and news spreader who goes by the Twitter name @Dezaxe later confirmed that it was a "100% scam," noting that "several malicious codes have been confirmed with different links." The user told the community that "from this, do not trust anything and wait for the official information that will come from the official developers."
In a separate tweet, @LucieSHIB reminded the Shib Army to be patient and avoid falling for traps and provided the official status of Shibarium by sharing the previous comment made by Shiba Inu's pseudonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama.
Before the end of 2022, Kusama was asked about the release date of Shibarium, to which he answered, "If you think I have a launch date you don't get it. So let me explain. Shibarium is being polished. Like when you put a car in a shop and it's done but they are washing and cleaning and polishing so you get that new car smell."
