The Shocking Way Kate Middleton, Prince William Snubbed Queen Elizabeth
It's been over a decade since Kate Middleton and Prince William were engaged to be married, but that doesn't mean all is forgotten -- like how they apparently snubbed Queen Elizabeth.
In true royal form, Prince William needed to obtain his grandmother's consent to marry under the Royal Marriages Act 1772. Although he clearly completed this task, she wasn't the first to hear that Kate had accepted his proposal. According to Express, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl revealed the details leading up to the snub.
The soon-to-be Duke and Duchess of Cambridge became engaged while they were staying in a cabin on Lake Rutundu in Kenya.
"Back at the cabin, on the veranda, William made Kate the happiest girl in the world by getting down on one knee and proposing," Nicholl wrote in Vanity Fair. "Kate likely felt that every year she had waited was worth it all for this."

Before they ventured to the Lake, the couple had stayed at Ian and Jane Craig’s house in Lewa Downs, and they returned there afterward as well, which understandably is how they were the first ones to find out, not Queen Elizabeth.
"The Craigs had been the first to hear about the engagement when William and Kate returned to Lewa Downs," Nicholl divulged. "But William swore them to secrecy."
Considering all that's happening with the royal family these days, the Queen of England has likely forgotten all about this mishap. She's likely more concerned at reports of Prince Harry snubbing their family.
Gossip columnist Dan Wooten shared the Duke of Sussex's alleged diss while appearing on ITV.
"'This is an institution full of people panicked they may potentially look out of touch and ultimately to blame for a lack of support,'" Wooten quoted. "So this very much is the Sussexes throwing down the gauntlet, saying that they haven’t been treated, haven’t been used appropriately by the Royal Family."
