'Shoot Them': Suspects Allegedly Pull Out Gun, Rob Restaurant In Fight For More Cheese
Two customers at Chipotle Mexican Grill in Ohio allegedly brandished a gun and robbed the store during a scuffle about cheese.
Officials are now on the lookout for the two suspects who fled the store following the altercation.
The incident took place at the Chipotle restaurant on South High Street in Columbus' Brewery District on March 28, according to cleveland.com. Central Ohio Crime Stoppers referred to the robbery as this week's "Crime of the Week," according to a Sunday news release.
"Columbus Police Patrol responded to a robbery alarm in the 400 block of S. High Street on March 28, 2023. A disturbance had erupted when two restaurant patrons became upset over their order," stated the release.
The two customers demanded more cheese with their order and backed one of the employees into a corner. The accused patrons ripped the woman's hat off her head, prompting other employees to rush to her aid.
A fight broke out between the employees and the two suspects, one of whom went on to pull out a gun.
"Shoot them," the other suspect repeatedly said, according to the news release. Investigators were later told by witnesses that the gun misfired, according to WKRC.
The two suspects ransacked the restaurant by throwing chairs and trash cans around before finally leaving the Chipotle restaurant. When they left, they also took somebody's cell phone with them.
"The suspects also took a cell phone from a person on scene. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle without their extra cheese," read the news release.
Crime Stoppers shared pictures of the suspects inside the fast food outlet and urged the public to get in touch with officials if they have any information that could lead to an arrest or arrests in the case.
"Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime," read the statement.
