‘Shots Fired’ Episode 6 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘The Fire This Time’?
Ashe (Sanaa Lathan) and Preston (Stephan James) are going to validate Arlen Cox’s (Richard Dreyfuss) involvement in Joey Campbell’s (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) murder in Season 1, episode 6 of “Shots Fired.”
According to the synopsis for next week’s episode, titled “Hour 6: The Fire This Time,” Ashe and Preston confront Governor Eamons (Helen Hunt) about Arlen’s potential connection to Joey’s death. In Season 1, episode 5, Cory (Marqus Clae) identified Arlen as the “older white man in black military gear” who shot Joey on the night of his death. Arlen is one of Eamons’ existing donors who finance her re-election campaign, so it’s hard to say whether or not Eamons will turn him in to the authorities if she’s aware that Arlen had something to do with Joey’s murder.
Interestingly, as seen in the preview clip for episode 6, Arlen persuades Eamons to declare a war on the people of Gate Station after a violent riot erupts between the police and the citizens, who are seemingly led by Pastor Janae (Aisha Hinds).

“I am not declaring war on my citizens,” Eamons says in the video.
“Your citizens have already declared war on you,” Arlen replies.
Meanwhile, Preston sits down with Deputy Beck (Tristan Mack Wilds) as part of Preston and Ashe’s plan to get him to turn on Lieutenant Breeland (Stephen Moyer) about the tours, a long-standing program in place at the Sheriff’s Department that have taken liberties in the Houses.
“All I want is the truth,” Preston tells Beck in the preview clip.
“Well, the truth is, you wouldn’t be here if I shot a black kid,” replies Beck.
Also in episode 6, Ashe takes matters about her ex-husband Javier (Angel Bonanni) and their daughter Kai (Laila Lockhart Kraner) into her own hands. A quick scene from the trailer shows Ashe at the custody hearing over Kai, saying that her daughter needs her.
“Shots Fired” Season 1, episode 6 airs on Wednesday, April 26 at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX. Watch the preview clip below:
