‘Shots Fired’ Season 1 Finale Sneak Peek: Ashe Convinces Lyndon To Tell The Truth
Lyndon (Markice Moore) admits to Ashe (Sanaa Lathan) that there’s no truth to the statement he previously made regarding Jesse Carr (Jacob Leinbach) and Joey Campbell’s (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) deaths.
In a sneak peek from tonight’s Season 1 finale of “Shots Fired,” Ashe visits Lyndon at his work to convince him to withdraw his initial statement as untrue. “I was on the other side of the glass when you told that fairy tale at the Sheriff’s office, the one about Jesse and Joey. Let me hear it again,” the DOJ investigator tells the ex-con in the preview clip.
“Jesse sold weed for Joey. Jesse was a customer, the end,” replies Lyndon, who obviously doesn’t want to cooperate.

“Except Jesse didn’t get high, and Joey stopped dealing,” Ashe says. “Is this really how you want to play this?”
After finding out that Ashe knows the truth, Lyndon finally confesses that the Sheriff’s department blackmailed him into making a false statement. “I’m just trying to do right, keeping my job so I can stay on parole,” Lyndon admits. “[Lieutenant] Breeland (Stephen Moyer) used my bro as leverage, always sweating me when he needed favors.”
When Ashe asked if he came into the Sheriff’s department to lie about Jesse and Joey’s cases, Lyndon nodded. “I’m sure you want to do right after rolling over for a dirty cop,” Ashe tells him. “You were promised amnesty, you’ll get it. I just need you to say all of this on the stand. You lie up there, your butt is going back to jail.”
Lyndon made the false statement about Jesse and Joey’s cases in Season 1, episode 6, in which he was brought into questioning by Breeland. In the interrogation room, Lyndon claimed that he was selling drugs for Joey. When asked to name his customers, Lyndon said the “the white kid from the news that got shot, Jesse,” was among them.
As previously reported, the truth about Jesse and Joey’s deaths will finally be revealed in tonight’s finale. According to the synopsis for the episode, the hearings for both cases are held, and Preston Terry (Stephan James) presents all the facts he and his partner, Ashe, gathered to the jurors.
“Shots Fired” Season 1 finale, titled “Last Dance,” airs tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
