‘Showtime At The Apollo’ Christmas: When, Where To Watch And Who’s Performing
A brand-new Christmas-themed episode of “Showtime at the Apollo” airs tonight (Dec. 14.) on Fox and the host is one everyone knows very well.
Steve Harvey, having led programs like “The Steve Harvey Show,” “Family Feud,” “Little Big Shots” and so many others, is hosting this Christmas episode of “Showtime at the Apollo” and is the perfect choice.
Not only did he host the show’s special last December and the one in February this year, but he’s also the host of the full-on weekly revival of the series, which is set to premiere soon on Fox.
None of this is new to Harvey, though, as this isn’t his first round of “Showtime at the Apollo” hosting duties. The show originally premiered in 1987 and had a long list of hosts, until 1993 when Harvey signed on as a permanent host for a few years. This helped launch his career and cement him as a staple in the comedy and hosting game.
Now, he’s back to where it all began and celebrating with some holiday fun in a new Christmas special.
When And Where Can You Watch?
Following the return of Taraji P. Henson’s special, “Taraji’s White Hot Holidays” on Fox at 8 p.m. EST, will be the brand-new, holiday-themed “Showtime at the Apollo: Christmas,” which will air at 9 p.m. EST.
If watching on the TV isn’t for you, but streaming on your handheld device or laptop is, then head on over to Fox Live to watch the live stream version of the Apollo Christmas special tonight.
Which Artists Will Be Performing?
Joining Harvey on the stage will be Adrienne Houghton, who will act as a co-host during the holiday episode.
Performance-wise, while Henson’s special will feature music from artists including Chaka Khan, Ciara, Faith Evans, Fergie, Jussie Smollett, Leslie Odom Jr., Salt-N-Pepa and the Ying Yang Twins, there are still quite a few stars saving their performances for the “Showtime at the Apollo” special.
The Harvey-hosted event will include some of the top musical acts, like Snoop Dogg & Boyz II Men, Fifth Harmony and DMX, who will all be performing versions of their favorite Christmas songs.
The special will also showcase the talent competition portion of the show, which serves as a platform for up-and-coming artists to perform and show the world what they’ve got to offer. The Apollo audience is always honest and never shy, often leaving contestants psyched up because of the loud cheers or in despair after the sounds of awful booing.
