Simon Cowell Confirms Relationship With Carmen Electra: 'We're People Who Date. She's Adorable'
Carmen Electra and Simon Cowell are officially dating, the British television producer told Ryan Seacrest this week.
“She's not my girlfriend. We're people who date. She's adorable, isn't she?” Cowell said.
Electra, 40, was a guest judge on the "X Factor," and Cowell, 52, is a producer and judge on the hit talent show.
Previously, Electra had said about Cowell: “He's so cute. He is adorable. He's actually a sweetheart ... I really liked him. I think he's really cool. Now, obviously, he's in [Los Angeles] with X Factor and we started to hang out and we became friends ... I think he's a great guy.”
Electra was married to Dave Navarro in 2003, who played guitar for Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their wedding was featured in a 2004 MTV reality show "Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave." They split in 2006.
Prior to Electra’s relationship with Navarro, she married former NBA player Dennis Rodman in one of the shortest celebrity unions. They married in Las Vegas and five months later, filed for divorce.
“It’s easy to get caught up in a moment. You think it’s romantic, but then you realize, ‘God, we did it in Vegas? It’s like getting a cheeseburger at a fast-food restaurant,” she told People magazine at the time.
Simon Cowell has also been engaged. He was with Mezhgan Hussainy in 2010, after meeting on the set of "American Idol."
The Sun reports that after the breakup, Cowell said, “I’m attracted to crazy women. I encourage crazy behaviour and I make them crazy. I’m attracted to certain personalities who are difficult to control. So there are tantrums, tears and fights, which is all part of the drama. My life is really odd.
"Every girl wants to be number one and they’re very territorial. I like the fight, because otherwise I’d have a dull group of girlfriends.”
After the split, Cowell still showered his ex, leaving her an $8 million mansion.
