‘The Sims 4’ Getting New Expansion Pack For Green Living

Starting June 5, “The Sims 4” players can choose to live their lives in a more environment-friendly way.

In an announcement on Twitter, Electronic Arts revealed the upcoming expansion pack for the game called “The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle.” As the name suggests, it will offer players the opportunity to live in a city that promotes sustainable green living.

As detailed in the EA website about the expansion, “Eco Lifestyle” will introduce players to Evergreen Harbor, where players are expected to make eco-friendly decisions that will still benefit the community.

“The cleaner Evergreen Harbor gets, the more you’ll see nature thriving. You determine whether the skies are smoggy or clear enough to see the aurora borealis glimmering above. Let garbage pile up on the streets of your neighborhood or clean it up to create lush green walking paths in town. It’s up to you!” the expansion description read.

Additionally, aside from keeping the city clean from pollutants, players can improve their home to make it nature-friendly. Upgrades that can be done include using wind turbines, solar panels, and dew collectors.

Players of the life-simulator game can also repurpose things and recycle materials to reduce their carbon footprint. In line with this, there’s also a new job called “Freelance Crafter,” in which players can sell upcycled products and more.

In the “Eco Lifestyle” expansion, players will also have the power to voice out their concerns for the improvement of the community. That includes organizing rallies and other events that will help Evergreen Harbor’s initiatives.

“Eco Lifestyle” will be the ninth expansion pack of the game, and it is already available for pre-order for $39.99. However, it is worth noting that the base game of “The Sims 4” is required in order to access and play the upcoming content.

The game is playable on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
