Sinéad O’Connor Reported Missing, Cops Fear Singer Is Suicidal Following Cryptic Facebook Message To Son
Family and friends are once again worried about Sinéad O’Connor after she reportedly failed to return after going on a bike ride over the weekend. The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer has since been reported missing, and police fear she’s also suicidal.
According to TMZ, O’Connor was last seen Sunday afternoon riding a Raleigh motorized bicycle with a pink basket in Wilmette, a suburb of Chicago. The 49-year-old controversial singer was wearing a sweatshirt with the word “Ireland” on the back, black leather pants and a black parka. The outlet wrote that someone close to O’Connor called police and reported her missing. An alert sent out by police listed O’Connor as “missing suicidal.”
Reports that O’Connor never returned home came after she posted a cryptic message to Facebook Sunday morning slamming her son Jake for the way he treats her and his brother. “Jake, kindly go to court on Tuesday and take custody your brother from Tusla,” she posted. “My lawyer will be making the illegal way yourself and Donal got him into Tusla (lying to the cops etc) known to the judge. Expect to be in trouble. In fact you’d best bring a lawyer of your own. And do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again. What you have done to your brother and your mother is LITERALLY criminal.”
As previously reported, O’Connor sparked concern in November when she posted a chilling Facebook message telling fans that she had “taken an overdose” and made sure it would be hard to locate her. Police found the singer alive hours after she left the message.
A few days later, O’Connor took to Facebook again, this time accusing her family members of putting her through an unimaginable amount of cruelty. She also accused one member of her family of killing their mother and alleged another one stole her children from her. Just a few days after she lashed out at her family, O’Connor returned to the social networking site asking them to come and see her in the hospital because she felt completely alone.
“Please why are you d doing these things to me?? I need you. I need your love. I can't manage what's been done to me,” she wrote. “Come and tell me why this is all happening. Come and tell Me I'm loved ... Been missing you all for weeks. To hear that you were here and left was agony. Now I am [utterly] alone. Please. Please love me. Please come to the hospital and spend time with me and help Fix all this. Please. I'm BEgging you. Don't leave me so frightened and alone.”
