Singapore Man Shares Photos Of Himself Sniffing Female Lingerie, Arrested

A 34-year old man was slapped with public nuisance and was arrested by the Singapore Police Force Friday after he posted several photos of himself sniffing lingerie and “performing lewd acts” inside the Housing and Development Board block in Choa Chu Kang.

One source said that authorities received numerous reports Thursday about the alleged photos that were uploaded on the man's Instagram account. Among those that he posted were a photo of a black shorts, a pink female underwear and himself in “Tampines with a pink female undergarment in his shirt pocket.”

Stomp also reported on the issue, saying that the man even claimed to have “masturbated” onto the lingerie before “hanging them back.”

The uploaded photo was accompanied by a caption that read, “Public panty sniffing. Block 356 Tampines Street 33.”

Following the complaints, the police made additional investigation that led to the arrest of the man. Officers of the Jurong Police Division was able to identify the culprit and arrested him at about 4:40AM.

The arrest was made in less than eight hours after the first complaints were coursed through.

The man's Instagram account is active and publicly accessible. Most of his offensive posts, however, have been removed and will no longer be visible to future visitors, save for his photo of himself with a pink underwear in his shirt pocket.

It remains available with a now-edited caption, added the source.

His latest Instagram post before he was arrested came with a caption, “Don't act like you guys don't like these kind of things. I will continue to collect them. Will post a video of me sniffing soon.”

He will be charged with public nuisance and can face fines of up to $1,000 should he be convicted.

In all other cases, the man can have what Psychology Today calls as “fetishistic disorder.” It is described as “one having an intense sexual attraction to either inanimate objects” or to a certain body part.

Festishistic disorder is also characterized as a condition where there is a persistent and repetitive use or dependence on nonliving objects such as undergarments, gloves, rubber articles and leather clothing, or a specific body part like the toes, hair or feet to reach sexual arousal.
