Better still, this exciting jackpot run has had a significant positive impact on the revenues for good causes raised by our member lotteries.”
The jackpot winner matched all six numbers drawn plus the gold Mega Ball. The grand prize marked the second-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
A total of 26 players matched five numbers, winning $1 million each. Six of those players, one from Arkansas, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and three from Florida, hit the Match 5 with the Megapplier, winning $2 million apiece.
There were 375 players who each won $10,000 by matching four numbers plus the gold Mega Ball. Meanwhile, 68 of those players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball with the Megaplier, winning $20,000.
The rest of the prizes from the night ranged between $2 to $1,000. A total of 14,391,740 winning tickets were sold at all prize levels in the Friday night drawing.
Following the big win, the Mega Millions jackpot will reset to $20 million with a cash option of $11.6 million. The next drawing will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 11 p.m ET.
