‘The Sinner’ Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 7 Synopsis, Trailer Released
New details about what happened to Cora on the night of July 4, 2012 will be revealed in next week’s episode of “The Sinner.”
According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 7 of the USA Network series, Cora (Jessica Biel) finally remembers what really happened to her at Beverwyck country club on the night in question.
In the trailer for the episode, Maddie (Danielle Burgess) tells Cora to go back home moments before they left Carl’s Taproom with their shared lover, J.D. (Jacob Pitts). While it’s likely that Maddie is trying to send Cora away because she’s jealous of her, it’s also possible that Maddie is attempting to get rid of Cora because she knows that something bad will happen that night. Whatever the case is, Cora and Maddie find themselves in trouble after a group of men comes after them.
As seen in the promo clip, the chase extends to the woods, where one of the men fires a warning shot. Maddie sounds nervous, while Cora seems lost, possibly due to the pill she took back at Carl’s Taproom.
At the end of the video, Cora comes face-to-face with the man in the featureless mask inside the main building of Beverwyck. “I wanna show you something,” the mystery man tells Cora as he takes off his mask.
While it seems that viewers have to wait until the next episode to find out who the masked man is, fans can now probably remove Mason’s (Christopher Abbott) name from their list of suspects. As seen in the trailer, the masked man has a larger built than Cora’s husband. Plus, the mystery man’s voice sounds different from that of Mason.
Although it appears that episode 7 will reveal everything that happened on the night of July 4, 2012, it seems that fans still have to tune in to the finale to know the answer to the show’s biggest question: Why did Cora kill Frankie Belmont (Eric Todd)?
“The Sinner” Season 1, episode 7 airs on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 10 p.m. EDT on USA Network. Watch the trailer for the episode below:
