  • Sir Elton John, Billie Eiish to perform at the Oscars
  • Elton will perform a song from the movie "Rocketman" while Eilish will deliver a "special performance"
  • Cynthia Erivo, Idina Menel, Chrissy Metz will also be performing at the Academy Awards

After sweeping all the major trophies at this year’s Grammys, Billie Eilish is all set to add one more feather in her cap by performing at the biggest awards function of the Hollywood – The Academy Awards.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced on Twitter that Eilish will be taking the stage on Feb. 9 for a “special performance” at this year’s star-studded ceremony. The details about her performance are still under wraps, but fans believe that she might debut the Bond theme song that she has co-written with her brother Finneas for the upcoming movie “No Time To Die.”

Eilish started the new year with a bang and became the youngest musician to win the trophies for Album of the Year and Song of the Year at the Grammys. She is also the first female artist ever to win in all the four major categories, including Best New Artist and Record of the Year during the same year. The last time it happened was in 1981.

Other than Eilish, esteemed singer Sir Elton John will also be one of the musicians that would enthrall the audiences with his musical prowess. The 72-year-old artist will perform the song “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from the movie “Rocketman” that has been nominated for an Academy Award in the Original Song category.

The “Bennie And The Jets” hitmaker has already won an Oscar in 1995 for the movie “The Lion King.” In 1995, John and Sir Tim Rice were nominated for not one but three songs on the same night. They won the trophy for “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and were also nominated for “Hakuna Matata” and “Circle Of Life.”

Other performers include the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Idina Menzel, Randy Newman, and Chrissy Metz. Erivo has been nominated in the Original Song category for “Harriet” and will also be competing in the Best Actress category for her stellar performance in the same movie.

Todd Phillips’ “Joker” leads the pack with 11 nominations while Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman,” Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon Time In Hollywood,” and Sam Mendes’ war epic “1917” received 10 nods each at this year’s Academy Awards.

The star-studded ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
