‘Sister Wives’ Star Robyn Brown Reveals Scary Pregnancy Complication In Season 7 Premiere
Robyn Brown might have given birth to a healthy baby girl in January, but according to the “Sister Wives” star, she had a bit of a complication during her pregnancy with Ariella Mae.
During the Season 7 premiere of the hit TLC reality series, Robyn and Kody revealed a startling hurdle that they faced during Robyn’s final trimester. “We’ve been really concerned about the baby and the position,” the patriarch of the plural family dished in episode 1. “We don’t want to have to deliver the baby breech.”
Robyn revealed that she had never experienced a breech delivery, which is when the child is born buttocks or feet first, so she didn’t know what to expect or if the baby would flip itself around. So when Kody’s fourth sister wife started feeling movement in her stomach, she was crossing her fingers that the activity was her baby repositioning herself. To find out if the baby had shifted in the womb, the expecting couple visited April Kermani, their midwife.
“It’s making me a little bit nervous,” Robyn said before getting her ultrasound. “I’m hoping for good news today.”
And that’s exactly what Robyn got after April took a peek inside the worried mother’s uterus.
“We’re relieved that the baby is in optimal position!” Kody said ecstatically in a confessional following their midwife visit.
Little Ariella Mae was born at home on Jan. 10, weighing 9 lbs., 9 oz. The elated parents shared the news on Twitter, stating how blessed they were to welcome the family’s newest addition.
“‘Baby Sister’ is already opening her eyes and seems to love listening to all the voices of her big family talk around her,” the couple said in a statement to People magazine.
Fans of the TLC series can expect to catch a glimpse of Robyn’s home birth during Season 7 of “Sister Wives.”
“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
