As many as six pythons have been captured from a deserted reinforced cement or concrete (RCC) pipe in Dhenkanal district of Odisha, India.

Susanta Nanda, an Indian forest service officer, shared a video of the python hunt on Twitter on Monday.

The longest pythons among them were said to be 18-foot and 16-foot respectively. Four other pythons that were captured were between 10 and 12ft, local television channel NDTV reported.

All six were safely released in a nearby forest.

Some goat herders reportedly first spotted a large python lurking inside a pipe in the fields and alerted the villagers. Locals contacted the snake helpline and forest department seeking help. Officials responded to the scene and rescued the18-feet-long python first. The other five were spotted inside the pipe. The officials had to break open the pipe with a JCB machine in order to get hold of the reptiles.
