Lewis Hamilton has reportedly crashed Valentino Rossi's MotoGP bike. There is no official information about it yet.
With the F1 and MotoGP seasons to have ended, Hamilton and Rossi continued to hit the racing track. The event is coincidentally exactly a year after Hamilton completed some testing on a Yamaha R1M Superbike at Jerez.
For a promotional event organized by mutual sponsor Monster, the superstar pair of Hamilton and Rossi apparently swapped their Mercedes and Yamaha vehicles at Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, Spain, on Monday.
Although any press release is yet to be out from the event, Italian daily La Repubblica has reported that Hamilton crashed Rossi’s Yamaha MotoGP bike and the photos will be released shortly.
Reportedly, a six-time champion, Hamilton was the first to try Rossi's bike and try it's pace before he crashed it. It was then Rossi’s turn to go from two to four-wheeler as he tried his hands on Hamilton's Mercedes F1 racing car.
The event apparently took place for almost eight hours behind the doors. The report said the event went "very well" for both sportsmen who were "as happy as children."
Even though the organizers wanted to keep the swapping a secret, Hamilton spilled the beans at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last Sunday.
"I’m going to be out with Valentino next week, which I’m a little bit nervous about. That bike is going to be so fast! That’s going to be awesome," Hamilton, who ended the F1 2019 season with a win, added.
