'Sleepy Hollow' Season 2 Premiere Date Released; Ichabod to Return September 22 [SPOILER ROUNDUP]
Guys, this is the best news we’ve heard all day! “Sleepy Hollow” has finally released its Season 2 premiere date after five months of nail-biting anticipation.
According to reports, Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills will be returning to the small screen to fight decapitated supernatural entities when the hit Fox series returns Monday, Sept. 22. So mark your calendars now because rumor has it the 18-episode sophomore season of “Sleepy Hollow” will be so jam-packed with drama you might lose your mind -- or should we say head?
Wondering what you can expect in the upcoming season? We’ve got you covered! This is everything we know so far regarding the second season, from cast additions to eerie story plots:
1. There’s a new Founding Father in town and his name is Timothy Busfield! The “West Wing” actor will be making his “Sleepy Hollow” debut as Benjamin Franklin in the upcoming season. He’ll be replacing the original Ben portrayed by Memphis journalist Jon Sparks.
2. “Sleepy Hollow” welcomes “House of Cards” star Sakina Jaffrey to play the role of the town’s new sheriff, Leena Reyes. Irving’s replacement is said to be “smart, forceful, highly trained and commanding” but will also display a “warm and maternal side.”
3. Ichabod and Abbie will join forces with a “ruggedly handsome” bounty hunter in Season 2 named Nick Hawley. The role is being played by Matt Barr, who is said to bring comedic relief to the sometimes gut-wrenching series. Rumors have also teased the “easy-on-the-eyes badass” might even win Abbie over with his swoon-worthy charm.
4. Fans will meet a new Horseman in episode 2, which is titled “The Kindred.” And according to reports, he’s going to be tall, muscular and good with a sword! Since we’ve already had the pleasure to get acquainted with Death and War, that means either Conquest or Famine will be introduced in the sophomore series. Who would you prefer to meet?
5. The Season 2 premiere of “Sleepy Hollow” has been titled “Hellfire,” which means you know it’s going to be an episode full of burning-hot drama. “Yeah, it’s getting real now…,” Albert Kim, a writer/producer for the show, wrote on Twitter. You can say that again!
