Small Plane Crashes In Backyard Of Pennsylvania Home, 3 Dead

A small planed crashed in the backyard of a Montgomery County home in Pennsylvania, killing all three people on board.
According to Upper Moreland Police Chief Michael Murphy, the crash occurred in 4200 block of Minnie Lane, Willow Grove, a town 30 miles north of Philadelphia on Thursday. The plane hit several trees before crashing in the backyard of the home at around 6.20 a.m. The plane had taken off from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport at 6.12 a.m.
Police reached the scene after receiving a 9-1-1 call from a resident in Minnie Lane. They found a single engine propeller plane crashed in the backyard of the house, surrounded by a field of debris. The plane was identified as a Beechcraft Bonanza.
Police tell us everyone aboard the small private plane that crashed in Upper Moreland died.

No one on the ground was injured and no homes or property were damaged, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. According to a statement released by the officials, two of the victims have been identified but their names have been withheld. Two of the dead are females.
Shortly after take-off, the pilot had reported a problem, officials said, but the cause of the crash still is still being investigated. According to the registered flight plan, the plane was headed for Ohio, investigators believe.
