Is ‘SNL’ New Tonight? 5 Things To Watch On Jan. 12
Sorry, “Saturday Night Live” fans. Tonight’s “SNL” episode is not new, but there are still other things to watch on TV. Viewers can catch their favorite cast members in several movies airing tonight.
“Jack and Jill” (10:30 p.m. EST, Comedy Central) “SNL” vet Adam Sandler plays ad executive Jack in this comedy. He also plays Jack’s twin sister Jill, who ends up staying with her brother much longer than expected.
“Rough Night” (11 p.m. EST, Encore) Current “Saturday Night Live” cast member Kate McKinnon stars in this movie alongside Scarlett Johansson, Ilana Glazer, Zoe Kravitz and Jillian Bell. They’re at a bachelorette trip that goes wrong after they accidentally kill the man they believe is their stripper.
“I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” (11 p.m. EST, Starz) Adam Sandler stars in this comedy alongside Kevin James and Jessica Biel. Sandler and James play firefighters who marry to get domestic partner benefits, but the state decides to investigate to make sure they’re legitimate.
“Elf” (11:22 p.m. EST, Bravo) After leaving “SNL,” Will Ferrell proved he could be a star on the big screen as well with this 2003 Christmas flick. He plays a man raised with Santa’s elves who goes to New York to meet his real father.
“Mean Girls” (11:30 p.m. EST, MTV) “Saturday Night Live” is all over this film. Written by Tina Fey and produced by Lorne Michaels, Fey appears alongside Amy Poehler, Tim Meadows and Ana Gasteyer. Plus, Lindsay Lohan went on to host “SNL” four times.
“Saturday Night Live” Season 44 will return to NBC with new episodes on Jan. 19. Those who don’t mind watching a rerun, however, can see Steve Carell host and Ella Mai perform as the musical guest.
