Is ‘SNL’ New Tonight? 7 Things To Watch On Dec. 29
“Saturday Night Live” is on tonight, but it’s not a new episode. The NBC variety show is on hiatus for the holidays. “SNL” will air a rerun tonight, but fans who don’t want to rewatch have other options on Dec. 29.
“Starship Troopers” (9 p.m. on Viceland) Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted “SNL” in 2009, stars in this movie about humans going to war against giant alien bugs.
“Beetlejuice” (10:30 p.m. on Vh1) This cast has plenty of “Saturday Night Live” alums. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Geena Davis all have hosted, and President Trump actor Alec Baldwin also stars in this fantasy flick. The film follows two ghosts who summon Beetlejuice to help them drive out their home’s new tenants.
“22 Jump Street” (10:30 p.m. on FX) Jonah Hill is a member of the five-timers club at “SNL” and his co-star Channing Tatum has also hosted once. They star as undercover cops at a college in this comedy.
“The Hangover” (10:45 p.m. on HBO) This cast has tons of former “SNL” hosts, including Heather Graham, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms. The movie follows a group of guys who have to retrace their steps the morning after a bachelor party that they can’t remember—and the groom has gone missing.
“Rampage” (10:55 p.m. on HBO2) Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been on “Saturday Night Live” several times. In this action movie, three animals become infected with dangerous pathogens, and Johnson is the primatologist who can help stop them.
“Wedding Crashers” (11:01 p.m. on Paramount) Vince Vaughn, who has hosted “SNL” twice, plays a bachelor who attends weddings with his buddy (Owen Wilson) to bed as many women as possible.
“Get Him to the Greek” (11:30 p.m. on HBO Comedy) Jonah Hill stars with Russell Brand in this comedy about an intern who helps a rock star get to a concert.
Those who want to watch the “Saturday Night Live” rerun can catch Jonah Hill’s fifth time hosting. The episode, which premiered earlier this year, features Maggie Rogers performing.
“SNL” Season 44 will return with new episodes in 2019.
