Soon after reality TV star Snooki (Nicole Polizzi) confirmed her pregnancy and engagement, her boyfriend Jionni LaValle took to Twitter to tell the world how excited he is about the big news.

Thank You everyone!! Sorry about that wait but glad everyone's happy!! he tweeted Wednesday afternoon, referring to the weeks of rumors and speculations about their engagement and the pregnancy.

So what is the proud father-to-be calling his child? He tweeted: Nicole and I are real excited!! Our baby is going to be #ShortnTan.

LaValle and Polizzi started dating each other a year and a half ago.

Lavelle also acknowledged the backlash he and his fiancé are facing.

Meanwhile, Snooki's cast mate Pauly D expressed his wish to be the godfather of the child.
