Solskjaer Dismisses Former Premier League Winner’s Move To Manchester United

- Aguero is the all-time leading goalscorer of Man City
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Manchester City superstar Sergio Aguero will not move to Old Trafford this summer.
Aguero, who is set to part ways with the Etihad side after 10 years, will become a free agent at the summer transfer window and has been linked with a number of top clubs, including other Premier League sides.
Ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Brighton Sunday, Solskjaer spoke about Aguero in a press conference, saying that he does not expect the Argentinean to move to Old Trafford for loyalty reasons.
"When I played for Man Utd, if a rival club tried to sign me, and I had gone, well where’s the loyalty? Loyalty is one of the values I really, really put highly. I wouldn’t expect any player who has played for a club for 10 years to want to go to their local rivals. It’s not for me. I know we’re professionals, but when you play for Man Utd you don’t go to Man City. We’ve had examples of that and I didn’t really agree with it. I won’t name names but you all know who I mean. Enough said," Solskjaer was quoted by Goal, as saying in a pre-match presser.
If Aguero moved across Manchester, he would be the first City player in 25 years to move straight to Old Trafford. However, that won’t happen and Solskjaer is pretty sure about it.
Despite his injuries, Aguero remains one of the top goal scorers in European soccer. Considering he could be signed for no fee, several clubs such as FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are interested in signing him.
Aguero, who moved from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City in the summer of 2011, is the Etihad club's all-time leading goalscorer, having scored 257 goals in 384 competitive matches over the years. He is currently the fourth-highest goalscorer in the Premier League history (181 goals) and the highest non-English scorer in the English top-flight league. He has won several honors with Manchester City, including four league titles.
