Somer Thompson, 7 was still missing on Wednesday, two days after she vanished when she was on her way home from school in Orange Park, Florida.

During the search for her, a body of a child was found about an hour from the missing girl's home in a landfill near Folkston in Georgia.

Authorities did not confirm the sex of the body and have not yet identified it, the Associated Press reported. A medical examiner's office in Georgia was to conduct an autopsy, according to Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler.

Authorities said the garbage brought to that landfill was collected in the Orange Park area.
