Son Kills Mother Inside Home, Claims He Was 'Possessed By Demons'

A 54-year-old man killed his mother in Florida, claiming he was "possessed by demons," police said.

The incident came to light after the deceased woman's daughter tried contacting her brother, identified as John Calhoun Tucker III, and her mother. When she couldn't reach either of them over the phone, she informed a woman about the situation, WPLG Local 10 reported Thursday.

The unidentified woman arrived at Tucker's home in The Roads neighborhood in Miami on Tuesday evening and knocked on the door several times. However, no one answered the door, according to a police report.

The woman then phoned the victim's daughter and informed her that the vehicles of both her mother and brother were parked outside the residence. Shortly after, the woman opened the unlocked door to find the victim lying on the floor.

The victim was found "unresponsive" and "cold to the touch," police said.

The woman performed CPR and then called 911, prompting Miami Fire Rescue crews to respond to the scene just before 7 p.m. First responders found the unresponsive mother bleeding from the ear and eventually pronounced her dead.

Upon arrival, Miami Police Department officers heard a noise coming from outside the house. They located Tucker and detained him at the scene.

Tucker confessed to murdering his mother Tuesday evening. The accused son further claimed, "he was possessed by demons from earlier that morning."

His mother "began praying on him" before he killed her, Tucker told officers.

A .40 caliber Ruger pistol was also recovered at the scene, according to WFLA News Channel 8. The cause of the woman's death was not immediately released. Her identity was not revealed by the authorities.

Tucker was charged with second-degree murder and was place in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond, as per court records.

An unrelated incident was reported earlier this month after a 17-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his mother and beat her with a frying pan in Cocoa, Florida. The teenager, identified as Tobias "Toby" Jacob Brewer, told law enforcement officials that his mother was "constantly on his case about cleaning his room." He admitted to stabbing his mother with a pocket knife and beating her up with a frying pan before cops found the victim. The mother survived and was taken to the hospital with injuries.
