Song Joong Ki Has A Busy Year Ahead Of Him Following His Divorce From Song Hye Kyo
Song Joong Ki is, undeniably, one of the most followed South Korean actors today. However, the 34-year-old Asian superstar will not be seen on small screens for a while after “Arthdal Chronicles” bid goodbye recently. So, what is next for Song Hye Kyo’s ex-husband?
Reports have it that Joong Ki will focus on his craft after his shocking divorce from Hye Kyo. In fact, the “Descendants of the Sun” actor has, allegedly, started filming for the movie titled “Victory,” which is a fantasy, science-fiction motion picture that will mark his return to the big screen.
The opening ceremony for the upcoming new movie was held on June 24 in Seoul City, South Korea. Song Joong Ki, director Jo Sung Hee, Jin Sun Kyu, Kim Tae Ri, and other cast members even participated in the script reading during the said event. Just recently, it was confirmed that English actor Richard Armitage will also star in the imminent film.
Joong Ki and the “Ocean’s 8” actor were spotted eating at a restaurant together in August. Armitage even took to social media to share his dining experience with the South Korean star. He posted a photo of him and Hye Kyo’s former lover as they enjoy a traditional Korea meal.
"Song Joong-ki introduced me to 냉면 ; 冷麵 it’s now my new favorite dish," the 48-year-old “Into the Storm” actor wrote in the caption. "Apparently there is a Korean pop song...about this bowl of noodles!!!” he said in another post, which featured a photo of some mouth-watering naengmyeon noodles.
Aside from the forthcoming “Victory” movie, Joong Ki might also star in a new thriller film called “Bogota.” Blossom Entertainment, which is the agency that handles the actor’s career, confirmed the reports. “Song Joong Ki received the offer to star in the film ‘Bogotá’ and is reviewing it,” the management revealed.
No other details have been made public about “Bogota” as of this writing. However, reports suggested that it will center on a man who immigrated to Colombia in 1990s. Kim Sung Jae is set to take the director’s chair. Should things be finalized, Song Joong Ki and the other cast will start filming in Colombia from December 2019 until January 2020.
Talks about “Arthdal Chronicles” having a second installment, despite its struggle to maintain high ratings, have been making rounds lately. "We're positively considering making a second season," an unnamed tvN official, reportedly, said. "The decision has not been finalized yet, but the possibility is high." Song Joong Ki has not yet commented on this matter.
