‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Season 7 Spoilers: Series Finale Date Announced; Final Season Promo Photos Released Online
Things are starting to get real. Not only is “Sons of Anarchy” three short weeks away from airing its Season 7 premiere on, Tuesday, Sept. 9, but the series finale date of the beloved FX series has also been revealed. According to reports, the final episode of the Kurt Sutter drama is set to air on Tuesday, Dec. 2 – and you can bet we’re marking out calendars right now.
Over the past few months we’ve learned a lot about the upcoming season of “SoA” from the premiere plot taking place 10 days after Tara’s brutal death to Jax’s cold blooded evolution. But out of all the teasers we’ve heard the most exhilarating one was that Gemma would be haunted by the ghost of Tara in Season 7 – well, kind of.
After Gemma shoved a carving fork into Tara’s head… again and again and again, fans wondered if Sutter would reprise Maggie Siff’s character through flashbacks or a dream sequence. However, the creator let fans down gently when he explained to Entertainment Weekly that going back in time isn’t really his thing.
“I’ve never done flashbacks or dream sequences on this show. They tend to pull me out of the reality of a show like this. Although ‘The Sopranos’ used them very effectively with Tony, it doesn’t make sense for Jax to experience that,” he said, adding that although Tara won’t physically make a debut in Season 7, that doesn’t mean fans can't expect her presence to be felt – specifically by the woman who killer her.
“Gemma has this odd, remorse-[driven] dialogue with Tara throughout the season,” he revealed. “As if she’s sitting right there next to her.”
And from what we’ve seen, the ghost of Tara isn’t the only haunting aspect of the final season. FX released a slew of chilling gallery images from Season 7 that are sure to give you goose bumps. Check them out below:
