Sony Announces Big Decision For ‘Iron Man VR’ Release
KEY POINTS
- "Iron Man VR" has been given a new release date after initially being scheduled for a May 15 launch
- Previously, the Marvel shooter game had been delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis
- "Iron Man VR" is now set for release on July 3
Tony Stark may be dead after “Avengers: Endgame,” but he is set to fly again soon in “Iron Man VR.”
After initially being delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis, the Marvel shooter developed by Camouflaj and published by Sony finally got a new release date.
“Iron Man VR” was supposed to be released this upcoming Friday, May 15. However, Sony confirmed last April that they had to make the tough decision of postponing the release given the new challenges in development brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, the tech giant has announced that the game will be released on July 3. No further details were mentioned, but Sony vowed to provide more information in the coming weeks.
“Iron Man VR” is undoubtedly one of the biggest titles coming to PlayStation 4 VR, so there is understandably a huge clamor for it – especially before PlayStation 5 officially takes over.
In the game, the player suits up as Iron Man and flies into the air, battling against supervillains. There will also be iconic allies, though the main story of the game follows Iron Man as he engages in a battle of brain and brawn with the mysterious hacker and anti-corporate activist called Ghost.
This is certainly a welcome development for fans, especially considering that there have already been a number of video game delays due to the current world health crisis.
Moreover, with this announcement, June and July are brewing to be two golden months for the gaming industry and for PlayStation 4 fans. After all, “The Last of Us part 2” has been moved to a June 19 release after it was also postponed due to the dreaded virus.
Less than two weeks later, “Iron Man VR” will land on the console to give fans a whole new experience. After another two weeks, open-world action-adventure samurai game “Ghost of Tsushima” will then be launched – on July 17 – to complete an awesome schedule for Sony.
All three games will be released exclusively for PlayStation 4.
While there have been several other delays in the gaming industry, the fact that major titles like “The Last of Us Part 2” and “Iron Man VR” have been given new release dates sooner than expected suggests that there might no longer be any more significant re-scheduling in the coming months.
