Hard-core gamers will rejoice on learning that Sony has unveiled a list of games slated for release with the much-awaited PS Vita in the U.S. and Canada on Feb. 22.

Today we announced the official PS Vita software launch lineup for the U.S. and Canada, and you'll be pleased to know that PS Vita will have the biggest and best lineup we've ever launched across the history of PlayStation platforms, said John Koller, Director of Hardware Marketing at Sony Inc., on Sony's PlayStation blog on Thursday.

The Japanese-based media corporation disclosed an impressive list of 25 titles plus ten more third party games on the blog post. Since it's a long wait for Feb. 22, consumers can get an early start and pick up their games along with a selection of accessories from Feb.15 by pre-ordering the PS Vita First Edition Bundle.

Sony said the games will sell between $9.99 and $49.99, with memory cards costing as much as $99.99 for a 32GB of storage capacity. The Wi-Fi only version of the PS Vita will sell for $249, while the 3G option will be for $299. For a complete package, a Starter Kit which includes a 4GB memory card can be purchased just short of $40. Among other peripherals included are a pocket pouch, protective film, card case, headphones and a cleaning cloth.

Games will be available at retail outlets or can be downloaded via the PlayStation Network.

Similar to what Nintendo offered earlier, the PS Vita will have augmented reality technology. Gamers can use the PlayStation Network to download a bunch of augmented reality mini games by pointing the Vita's camera at AR cards included in the system.

The PS Vita was launched with much fanfare in Japan on Dec.17, reportedly selling more than 300,000 units over the weekend. The device which sports a brilliant 5-inch OLED touchscreen provides a console-like gaming experience, with aspects of a mobile system. Gamers can take advantage of the front and rear touchscreen controls with dual analog joysticks. The device is also pre-loaded with non-game apps including Facebook and other network communities, and runs on AT&T's 3G/Wi-Fi Mobile Broadband Network.
