Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium: Price, Release Date Revealed
Sony just launched the Z5 series of handsets starting with the flagship “Xperia Z5,” a mini version “Xperia Z5 Compact” and a jumbo version “Xperia Z5 Premium.” Now, the pricing and release date details specific to the Z5 lineup have been revealed for the U.K. and other European regions.
Speaking of size, the Xperia Z5 Compact features a display size of 4.6 inches, while the flagship and Premium versions come with 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch displays, respectively. The Xperia Z5 Premium also apparently carries a improved 4K screen resolution, whereas the other two devices settle for a Quad HD resolution.
Under the hood, the Xperia Z5 handsets are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset. Furthermore, the devices also sport a 23-megapixel Sony Exmor RS sensor as the primary camera unit. The same sensor reportedly has the capability to focus quicker, Phone Arena reported.
The Xperia Z5 specifications also include a fingerprint scanner, which is located on the side of the device, instead of the home button. Like other Xperia Z lineup of smartphones, the Z5 is also water-proof. In Sony’s traditional fashion, the Z5 lineup can apparently provide two-day battery life with ease.
Moving on to the Xperia Z5 price details, Sony has not confirmed the official prices of every region thus far. However, Phone Arena has picked up details from Sony U.K.’s official Website and also from the credible tipster Ricciolo. According to Sony U.K., the Xperia Z5 will cost 599 pounds ($916). The Xperia Z5 Compact, on the other hand, can be purchased for 549 pounds ($840), while the Xperia Z5 Premium comes with a whopping price tag of 699 pounds ($1,069).
Meanwhile, the tipster Ricciolo said that the mini variant will reportedly cost 599 euro ($672) in Europe. The Z5 and the Z5 Premium will be available for 699 euro ($784) and 799 euro ($897), respectively. The aforesaid Xperia Z5 pricing details pertain apparently to Italy, which is one of the costliest regions, and therefore, the device could be 50 euro lesser in other European markets, Phone Arena reported.
In the case of the U.S., even though there is no official confirmation, the Xperia Z5 could cost within the ambit of $600 and $700. The price of the Compact device will be slightly lesser than the flagship model, whereas the Premium could cost $700 or more.
Speaking of Xperia Z5 release date, Sony apparently acknowledged that the flagship and the mini variant will be made available globally starting October. The Premium device, meanwhile, will see the day light in November.
