  • Sony has released the WF-SP800N, a new pair of true wireless noise-canceling earbuds
  • The WF-SP800N is cheaper than the AirPods Pro and other noise-cancelling earbuds
  • It also offers a lot of features to be desired by wireless earbuds fans

Sony has released a new pair of truly wireless earbuds with noise cancellation features in the WF-SP800N. This new set of earbuds offer Sony's signature sound, the ability to cancel noises in the environment, enough water resistance to be worn in the gym or in the streets, a few interesting colors depending on the location of the buyer – all at an irresistible price.

Here's a quick look at the new WF-SP800N's features and why users might choose it over Apple's AirPods Pro.

It's cheap

First and foremost, the new WF-SP800N is cheaper than the AirPods Pro and other noise-cancelling earbuds out there. According to Sony, it sells for only $200 via Amazon and Best Buy. This is cheaper than Apple's noise-cancelling earbuds by about $50 brand new, and about $30 cheaper than Sony's own top-of-the-line offering for noise-cancelling earbuds, the WF-1000XM3.

It offers Sony's renowned sound and noise-cancelling feature

Sony isn't a newcomer when it comes to great audio and noise cancelling. It's WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling headphones continue to receive praise in the over-ear category, while the WF-1000XM3 has been lauded for being a great pair of noise-cancelling earbuds.

That said, the WF-SP800N can be expected to deliver great audio and noise cancellation. Gizmodo noted that it offers the “same excellent sound and noise-canceling performance as the WF-1000XM3s.” It also offers “Extra Bass” for more powerful, punchy low-end sound. All that for a lower price.

It is designed for an active lifestyle

The new WF-SP800N is designed to stay in the user's ears even while moving. It is slightly larger than the WF-1000XM3s but avoids falling out thanks to in-ear tips, a soft-cushioned arc supporter and a three-dimensional curved design. It's also IP55 rated for water and dust resistance. Users can wear it while exercising, running, jogging, or riding a bike.

It offers Ambient Sound Mode

Speaking of jogging and riding a bike, the WF-SP800N has an Ambient Sound Mode that lets outside noise in so that users can stay aware of their surroundings while they listen to music or take calls.

It has long battery life

Sony claims that the WF-SP800N can last for up to a total of 18 hours with active noise-cancellation turned on. With the feature turned off, it can last up to a total of 26 hours. What's more, a 10-minute charge will give up to an hour of playback time.

It comes in different colors

Those who are looking for noise-cancelling earbuds in different colors can get the WF-SP800N. It comes in black, white, blue and orange. Availability depends on the region, however.
