Sony recently confirmed that the next State of Play livestream will be this coming on May 9. Like previous livestreams, Sony will reveal details about their upcoming Playstation games and hardware releases. Here’s what we know about the next State of Play.

According to Sony, the State of Play livestream this May 9 will start on 3 p.m. EST. The livestream will be short and last just around 10 minutes, but it will be filled with PS4 reveals that Sony wants to show fans soon. The stream will go live on the official Sony channels on Twitch, Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.

Among the reveals will be more details about the "MediEvil" remake and a new title. Details about some “upcoming PS4 reveals” were also confirmed. However, this State of Play stream will not have any updates on the PS5 console that was revealed last month.

So far, this is the closest State of Play livestream to the annual E3 show, where Sony previously announced their biggest reveals. The State of Play livestreams were born out of Sony’s desire to announce their new releases outside of E3. According to an interview with Game Informer, Sony has solidly confirmed that they won’t be in June’s E3.

Other than Sony, Microsoft has also recently announced a big reveal coming soon via Twitter. The teaser showed fire and what appeared to be armor with a draconic sigil.

Fans were quick to notice that it may have been a “Game of Thrones” reveal. However, the teaser barely had any details about the possible “Game of Thrones” release.

We’ve yet to know the true nature of this teaser, whether it’s going to be a game, console or some new “Game Of Thrones” exclusive digital content for the Xbox. Right now, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” series is on its last season and is slated to air its last episode this coming May 19.

For now, we’ll have to wait until Thursday to know what Sony wants to reveal to the public. Sony said that its next livestream will be later this year. This stream needs to end strongly to appeal to the fans if the next one won’t happen during the same month as E3.
