Sophie, Countess of Wessex recently stepped out with her entire family for a quick trip to the zoo.

The mom of two was photographed in her blue polka dot dress. Sophie also kept her hair tied in a bun, and she placed her sunglasses over her head. Her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, 15, donned a white V-neck blouse and pink and white floral skirt.

It is also evident much taller Lady Louise has her cousin Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding on Oct. 12. Even though she was wearing flat shoes, she looked a little bit taller than her mom, who was in heels.

Also present during the outing were Prince Edward and James, Viscount Severn. The 11-year-old son of Prince Edward and Sophie was photographed in his blue long-sleeved polo shirt, navy-blue coat, and cream pants.

Prince Edward wore a grey suit, blue polo shirt, navy-blue necktie, and cream pants for the outing. He and his family also posed for a photograph while they were at the zoo. Lady Louis and James are on vacation at the moment.

Sophie’s sighting came around the same time that a royal biographer’s comparisons between her, Princess Diana, and Sarah Ferguson were revisited. In the book “Prince Edward,” royal author Ingrid Seward said that Prince Edward’s wife had some characteristics that made it easier for her to survive in the royal family.

“Any romance with a member of the royal family is conducted on their terms. If Sophie had any reservations or complaints, she prudently kept them to herself,” she said.

Kevin Morley, a founding member of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, also credited Sophie’s PR background and said that this helped her understand what she was getting into.

“The same might have been said about the Duchess of York, who before her marriage to Prince Andrew had worked for a number of PR organizations. Unlike Sarah, Sophie was careful not to upstage her royal paramour,” Seward said.
