Sophie, Countess Of Wessex, A ‘Soap-Opera-Free’ Bride Unlike Princess Diana, Expert Claims
Sophie, Countess of Wessex is very different from the late Princess Diana, according to one expert. When the Princess of Wales was still alive, she lived a drama-filled life, while the Countess is the opposite.
According to body language expert Judi James, Prince Edward's wife was such a breath of fresh air to the royal family. After all, she was considered a soap-opera-free bride.
While speaking with Express, James said, “When Sophie married Edward she was hailed as the new Diana, but what followed looked like a masterclass in hunkering in as the soap-opera-free royal bride who managed to be a stabilizing influence on her husband while keeping the press and royal fan attention to a minimum.”
According to James, Sophie also managed to forge a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth II very early on. And when it comes to her body language, the Countess of Wessex sends signals that she’s quite laidback, calm, and fun.
“The Queen’s body language with Sophie always suggests her daughter-in-law is a bit of a confidante, with Sophie’s relaxed, constantly calm and upbeat demeanor seeming to allow the Queen to relax more in her company, too,” she said.
Meanwhile, James also talked about Sophie’s body language when she’s out in public with Kate Middleton. She said that the mom of two has been a reassuring force for Kate ever since the latter joined the royal family.
“This attitude must have made her the perfect royal wife to welcome and induct Kate into the Royal Family, especially in the face of William’s horror of bringing Kate into the same circus that he watched his mother suffer,” James concluded.
However, there are also some members of the royal family who weren’t necessarily fond of Sophie. It was previously revealed that Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were quite jealous of Prince Edward’s wife.
After all, the Queen gave Sophie her permission to live with Prince Edward even before they tied the knot. As such, she was able to receive the proper training before she officially joined the royal family.
