Sophie Turner Wanted A Date With This 'Friends' Star

Sophie Turner has revealed she once had a crush on "Friends" star Matthew Perry.

The "Game Of Thrones" actress admitted the news on Twitter's #BehindTheTweets series where celebrities have to explain their most puzzling, hilarious, and embarrassing tweets. One such tweet from 2016 made reference to Chandler Bing, Perry's character on "Friends".

"Holy balls," Turner wrote, "Chanandler Bong himself is rehearsing his play right next to my home."

Turner excitedly recalled the moment that sparked her tweet, saying, "I would walk around the corner every day to go to my local Budgens which is a great little supermarket. And I would walk around the corner every day and I would see Matthew Perry outside smoking a cigarette. And I bought a lighter from Budgens so that I could walk up to him and offer to light his cigarette."

Turns out her master plan to show hospitality to Perry failed. "It was already lit, so that was just embarrassing," she said.

"I thought he might see this tweet and then, I don't know, reach out to me and ask me on a date or something" the "Dark Pheonix" actress further explained, "But, he didn't."

While things did not work out with Perry, Turner was able to find love with Joe Jonas. The two wed in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas after the 2019 Billboard Music Awards last month. The wedding was such a surprise that even Jonas' parents didn't know it was happening.

It's been reported that the couple will get married (again) in Europe this summer. And, something says that the parents will most likely be invited to this ceremony which will predictably be much more luxurious.
