Soros-backed group says Beck departure overdue, still blasts Fox
Media Matters for America – a media watchdog group that received generous donations from left-leaning billionaire George Soros – applauded Glenn Beck’s departure from Fox network.
David Brock, founder of Media Matters, said the following: “After losing more than 300 advertisers and seeing more than 1,000,000 viewers abandon his show the only surprise is that it took Fox News months to reach this decision” (emphasis added).
Of Fox in general, Brock said: “Fox News now has to choose: will it eliminate all violent rhetoric from the network - not just during the 5PM hour? And will the network make a commitment to end its role as a political operation masquerading as a news station?
Media Matters and Beck were foes long before the latter’s announced departure.
Media Matters’ mission is “comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media,” – namely, the “conservative misinformation” of pundits like Glenn Beck.
Beck, on his part, is the most prominent attacker of George Soros. Beck calls Soros the “Progressive Puppet Master” who funds the progressive movement that has allegedly been destroying America for decades.
