South African Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa Shot To Death In Home Invasion Robbery: Police

South African goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa was shot to death in a home invasion robbery at his girlfriend's house in Vosloorus township, about 20 miles south of Johannesburg, police said. The 27-year-old Orlando Pirates captain was dead on arrival at a hospital.
"This is a sad loss whichever way you look at it, to Senzo's family, his extended family, Orlando Pirates and to the nation.'' said Pirates' chairman Irvin Khoza, the BBC reported.
Police tweeted news of the crime.

The BBC said police were searching for three suspects. A $14,000 reward was offered for information.
Sport24 quoted police as saying seven people were in the house when two of the three suspects invaded.
Teammate Dean Furman said tweeted he was "devastated" by the loss.
