‘South Park: The Fractured But Whole’ Toys Tip Possible Release Date In September
South Park: The Fractured But Whole has slipped to a release date in Ubisoft’s next fiscal year, but new Construction Sets from McFarlane Toys may give us a much narrower window to deal with. Assuming these toys launch with the game, all products may be on store shelves by September. IGN has the full story.
IGN revealed that three construction sets, called “Check Your Privilege,” “Supercomputer” and “Top Bad Guys Board,” will be available as of September 2017.

In terms of what the sets include, fans of the series may already have an idea. The 101-piece “Check Your Privilege” builds an articulate PC Principal in his office setting. Supercomputer, on the other hand, features a 42-piece diorama of Kyle as his superhero identity, The Human Kite. “Top Bad Guys Board” is also 42 pieces. It builds Stan and his bulletin board of evil foes. The larger set is expected to cost $14.99, while the two smaller ones come in at $8.99.
Beyond the toys, however, the larger implication here is that these Fractured But Whole sets may offer a clue as to when the next South Park game will be available. After all, it wouldn’t make sense for McFarlane or Ubisoft to sell these products before consumers know how they relate to the source game. You’d assumingly want to coordinate both releases as closely as possible.
That being said, September jives with Ubisoft’s recent plans. The company's next fiscal year stretches from April 1, 2017, through March 31, 2018. September is right in the middle of that window. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that these toys might be delayed if development takes more time, but this news potentially gives us a better view of where the situation stands today.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole was first revealed during E3 2016 and was originally announced to release December 2016. However, after multiple delays and canceled pre-orders, its completion status remains unclear. The game itself intends to be a South Park parody of Captain America: Civil War and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2014, Ubisoft published South Park: The Stick Of Truth, a comedic critique of RPG gaming tropes.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
