'Southern Charm' Star Kathryn Dennis Slams Homewrecker Claims, 'Not True'
They say when it rains it pours and boy is it storming over "Southern Charm" star Kathryn Dennis.
The Bravo reality star has been at the center of many controversies lately and apparently, she's had enough. Kathyrn took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday to set a few things straight.
"I’ve been quiet since all this started and told not to post anything but I can’t stand it anymore," Kathryn wrote. "Y’all have to know that this whole thing has been blown out of context. I’m freakin' heartbroken and SO depressed because the way I’m being portrayed is totally not true!!!"
The 28-year-old first addressed the situation which saw her use the monkey emoji when conversing with black radio host Tamika Gadsden. She later appeared to move on to speculation that she started the rumor that her "Southern Charm" co-star Cameran Eubanks' husband, Jason Wimberly, was having an affair.
"And I see now that I'm back on IG that some [expletive] people are thrilled to use this situations [sic] to come up on their own. Use for their own benefit," Kathryn wrote. "I'm not gonna let that happen. Never have never will. I'm making a full statement tomorrow but I had to respond bc I cannot stand my character being annihilated. Please just be patient and know this [expletive] is just not true."
Kathryn's response comes just days after Cameran simultaneously announced her departure from "Southern Charm" and set the record straight regarding infidelity rumors surrounding her husband.
"...It has come to my attention that insidious rumors are now spreading and fake articles being written... some of which pertain to my marriage," Cameran wrote in a statement. "While upsetting, it sadly doesn't surprise me as this is what reality television has come to nowadays and a large reason why I kept my marriage off the air. You must protect what is sacred to you. Some things aren’t worth a big paycheck."
"What upsets me the most is that my husband, who is the most sincere and faithful human I know, is being falsely dragged into this. It disgusts me," the 36-year-old mother of one continued. "He always supported me filming the show even though he wanted no part of the spotlight. I can't get too upset though because this is what you sign up for when you put [your] life on reality TV…and why I'm getting out of it now."
Cameran also said that "drama is needed" for reality television and that "sadly false rumors about others are sometimes created." She added, "make of that what you will and consider the source."
"Please disregard any fabricated rumor," she concluded. "It's a ploy for ratings and that's it. Now I absolutely know I was smart to leave the party early. My gut has never failed me. To all of my genuine and kind fans, cast and crew that I have worked with the years and had the pleasure of knowing...thank you."
